From a very early age I have shown my interest in art and started looking at everyday things and thinking how I could redesign them in an artistic way. This started after my mother taught me the basics of drawing and painting at the age of 4. At this age I found art very interesting and continued creating different pieces every time I had a spare moment.
Until the age of 14 I lived in a poor part of Russia, Siberia, where computers did not exist then. After seeing them in films I always dreamed about having one so I could explore the digital world. In December 2000 my family situation changed and we moved to the UK. This was a great change in my life and it made a lot of my dreams come true. The day I first used a computer was the day I realised that this is definitely one of the things I want to work with in the future along with my old passion- art.
During my first two years of exploring the digital world and the Internet with a little knowledge of English language, I have managed to make 3 websites in Russian using at first the templates from the Internet. However, as I found these templates' designs very boring, I looked at the "inside" of them and found HTML, which I then managed to learn and use for making my new websites.
For my options in GCSEs I chose to do art and ICT so I could develop my skills and knowledge of my favourite subjects. At GCSE my ICT teacher Mr Wright often asked me to assist him in lessons when he was teaching web design to other year groups. I decided to carry on with these subjects in A-level along with maths, Russian and performance studies.
When I finished school I went to the university of Plymouth to study Bsc(Hons) Digital Art & Technology. After completing 2 years and getting on Dean’s list of excellence, I moved to Central London because I got a Junior Web Designer and Developer job at Bluemoon Marketing in Islington. I learnt a lot during my work placement year and realised that I want to have my own design company one day.
I also enjoy photography. I have worked with many photographers for over 4 years doing modelling. This has given me an insight into the importance of composition and light. Many of them taught me lots of tips and tricks of digital photography. I also assisted some in a couple of shoots with different models in different atmospheres.
I am naturally an artistic person and I like trying new things. I am enthusiastic about different forms of art. I enjoy Dance and Drama as well as Visual and Digital arts. I have been committed to "Revive" dance group for 3 years. I understand different aspects of arts and love performing. I like working with different people especially who share the same interests as me.
